+What’s a denturist?
![]() Denturists are specialized dental-care professional who work exclusively with denture patients. The Denture Centre currently employs five denturists who have over 50 years combined experience! Denturists spend up to three years in school at Ontario colleges, studying the technical aspects of denture construction as well as the clinical challenge of fitting dentures to individual mouths. +What is a dentist?
Dentists are doctors of dental surgery, meaning that they are medical doctors that deal specifically with the mouth and area structures. +What’s difference between a denturist and a dentist?
Both dentists and denturists are able to work clinically with
patients fitting dentures in the mouth. However, because dentists are
medical doctors, they are much more trained in diagnosing and
treating oral conditions.
+Can dentists and denturists work together?
Yes! This is frequently done when having teeth pulled at a dental office and getting dentures made at a denture clinic. In this situation it’s best to come for your free consultation at the nearest Saberton Denture & Implant location before proceeding with any extractions. This allows us to communicate effectively with the dentist who will be pulling the teeth, helping to ensure an easier transition from your own teeth to a denture. |
